Our Mission:

Who we are:

The Learning Paddocks specialise in offering enirchment and qualifications for young people in an inclusive outdoor environment.

 β€‹

Our curriculum promotes personal and professional growth through practical experiences and focused learning in various subjects, particularly for those needing educational support.

Why we started:

“Throughout my entire working career, I’ve had the privilege of working across a range of educational settings as a teacher.

While all young people technically had access to education, I saw first-hand how traditional classrooms often failed those who learn differently - especially those who struggle with rigid indoor routines and expectations.

We started this school to create something better. A place where education feels accessible, meaningful, and inspiring - not limiting.

Through outdoor learning, hands-on experiences, and a tailored approach, we want to open the doors for young people who may not thrive in mainstream environments but still have so much to offer and achieve. An environment that make learning feel natural, relevant, integrated and unforced.

We love animals and the outdoors, and we want to share the insight/ educate young people in our passion. No young person should be made to sit at a desk and be lectured at for hours on end - they should be learning kinaesthetically, practically, and most of all - engaged.

This is why we started: to make learning feel alive again.”

Our Team

Our team brings together a strong blend of experience across SEND, SEMH, neurodiversity, education, care, health and practical outdoor learning.

We are experienced in supporting young people with Autism, ADHD, anxiety, sensory processing differences, EBSA, school avoidance, emotional regulation difficulties and those who may struggle to thrive within traditional educational settings.

Our staff understand the importance of building trust, working at each learner’s pace and creating a calm, consistent environment where young people feel safe, seen and understood.

Alongside specialist SEND and SEMH experience, our team also brings knowledge from education, functional skills, foster care, neurodiverse nursing specialist, animal care, equine environments, horticulture and practical life skills.

This allows us to offer a highly supportive, relationship-led provision where learners can build confidence, independence, resilience and meaningful skills through hands-on outdoor experiences.
